Dear Sierra Sportsmen Club Member,
Well
fellow sportsman, another year has pasts. It seems like a few weeks ago I was
sending you my
first “President’s Letter”, thanking you for
electing me your president and stating what the club was
planning to acomplish
in the coming year. That year has pasted and I find myself looking forwards to
a
new year as your president. I wish to thank everyone that was so helpful
in accomlishing all that was done
last year. Without your help the club would
not have had the improvements at the Rice Canyon range. The
outstanding three-day
rendezous at Desmond’s Meadow that was planned and held by the Pauite Creek
renegades
(Sierra Sportsmens Club’s Blackpowder Shooting discipline) was a fantastic
reenactment of the
fur trade days. Let’s not forget the three-day Sage
Brush Rebellion brought to life by the Lassen
Regulators (Sierra Sportsmens
Club’s Cowboy Action Shooting discipline). If you really want to see how
the
West was won or lost, don’t miss this years shoot out at the Flying “B“
Ranch.
I am sure those using the range have noticed the progress on the main
rifle range cover. I again wish to
thank those that came out to help on that
project. The cover has been completed and a much needed
improvement for our
range. This year we are working on another grant from the Friends of the NRA to
build
five shooting areas to be used for pistol and cowboy action shooting. With a look
into the future for
a cover over the pistol range that is now in the planning
stage.
